I pushed the button I'd say about 50 times since I bought it in Other than that it's just sat there. During those times it did have issues. Put some batteries in it and pushed it again. The door didn't even go all the way up. And a random piece of plastic came out. This would be a five but this knocked it down to a four and I feel the other items could've been made better. Other than that.

It's pretty good. The book so far is really awesome and I love the presentation of the entire thing! I do have some thoughts to share on the quality of the box and the marks on my hologram that make it appear not brand new. The box seemed to have been opened before and looked roughly handled. I feel like the original packaging maybe had one of those plastic seals covering the entire thing.

This package only had tape on the box to close the tabs that slide out to open the box lid. The item inside has a few questionable marks and scuffs on it that really make me feel like it's not new. The book has a harsh cut on top left like something cut into it really badly. I'm not sure what caused this. On one of the red triangle panels on the side, there are to small plastic dots that are sticking out and are clearly not supposed to be there.

Aside from thinking I may have received a previously opened item, which to me makes it "not new," I really love this piece. There are also Jedi, and Bounty Hunter versions too. Or just the books available if you don't want the whole shabang! Made my Starwars fan estatic! These books and cases are pretty much the coolest thing I have ever seen!

I bought one for three boys One is an oversized boy. This one was for my year-old son. The box that it is packaged is nice worth saving. All Shiny black and red. It is I would say guessing about 10 inches, maybe 12 square at the base. When you push the button, the front of the pyramid pops open and lifts up as the red lights flash and the sound of lightsabers powering on plays.

As the lid opens a tray containing the "Book of the Sith" slides out. Really awesome! My son thought it was just the best gift ever. Yeah we are all Starwars fans! On the inside tray where the book is is the Sith Crystal it does come out.

The book is pretty cool , stuck between the pages are artifacts of the sith, maps and compass like item. My son has already read the book at least 4 or five times. The book it written as a SITH with footnotes and handwritten notes in the magins, It is as if you are reading the private thoughts of past Sith lords.

If I'm being honest I'd have given this item 5 stars even if the book was not with the package, the amount of fun I've had watching people get the bejesus scared out of them when they press the golden triangle on the front is more than worth the money I paid!

But in reality the actual package itself is just fantastic, from the detailed notes entered by Sidious himself to the little collector items left scattered about the book are just a true treasure to any star wars fans inventory.

The holocron itself looks ominous as is befitting something Sith made, and I've got to say it looks just mint sat next to my Mace Windu signature series lightsaber. Call yourself a star wars fan? It's an investment to say the least, and while I have no plans on selling this item in my lifetime, it's nice to think that you are part of a select group of people who will ever own this piece.

This is every star wars fans dream, when I opened the packaging and activated the button and the vault came to life with sound and lights. This is a really well thought out and well written book presented in a wonderful display case.

The added "hand written" notes by the various characters adds a comedy element and background to the book and the extra items that have been inserted add that special touch to an already brilliant book. If you collect star wars items then I would recommend the vault editions of these books as they should be part of every star wars collection.

Report abuse. Pretty damn good for the price, great book for any serious Star Wars fan and the Holocron looks and sound magnificent, great collectible for any major collector. My only nags are that the compass thing that comes with it feels very cheap, and same with the Sith crystal, also once while opening the holocron it did get jammed and at the time I thought it might've been broken, but it was okay thank Talos.

Even with those slight downfalls the book and Holocron are still amazing, must buy. Bought as a gift for someone and they love it. Explore similar books.

The actual Book cover, pages and print quality is 4. I also really liked the little side notes made by different characters such as Sidious and Luke. Also I was hoping for a longer book since it was as general as it was. If the book was more in-depth and detailed then I would have been happier with the page length it has. I'm currently only one third of the way through this book, and already it has me using a lightsaber to cut my way though doors.

Seriously though, as an individual who hardly reads, this book has gripped me as much as Darth Vader's choke. Great lore and a mega read. While the material within the pages sheds some light on the mysterious Sith culture and folklore, the book is designed to appear as if it is made up from the remains of other books, sewn together to create a more complete volume; this made it a little tricky to read as fonts and styles change from page to page.

Also the book appears to have been bound upside down and back to front! Opening the front cover shows the rear page upside down. A stylistic touch to enhance the 'sewn together' feeling Or a mistake?
